Yeddi's time starts now

Governor of Karnataka H R Bharadwaj has given Karnataka Chief Minister, B S Yeddyurappa time till October 12th to prove his majority on the floor of the House. A Raj Bhavan communication issued here states that 14 BJP MLAs and 5 independents have withdrawn their support from the government.

This would mean that the BJP government in Karnataka has been reduced to a minority. With the 21 MLAs pulling out this means that the BJP government will have just 96 MLAs with it when the magic number required to stay in power in 113.

However the Yeddyurappa camp is hopeful that it will tide over the crisis and will be able to prove its majority by October 12. They are expecting a positive communication from Chennai by evening after it was decided to accommodate many rebels in the cabinet.
