SHAMEFUL

In a horrific incident the memorial built for the victims of the Mangalore air crash was found desecrated by miscreants.
A memorial comprising black granite slabs with the names of the victims was erected at Kenjar near the Bajpe airpiort by Union Civil Aviation Secretary M M Nambiar. The memorial was erected and unveiled on July 27.
The police who are looking into the matter say that they have not been able to nab the culprits as yet. However it appears to be a random act of mischief and the memorial was descecrated by hurling stones and boulders at it.
The district authorities have decide to set up a new memorial and will provide a protective shield this time around.
An Air India Express plane from Dubai overshot the table-top runway at the Mangalore airport on May 21 and crashed killing 158 people. There were 160 passengers and six crew members on board the ill fated flight.
