The drama in Karnataka will continue with the Karnataka High Court delivering a split verdict where the dis qualification of 11 BJP rebel MLA's is concerned. Chief Justice Kehar ruled that the speaker was right while passing the order of dis qualification. However justice N Kumar who differed on one point held that the procedure under 10 2 a of the constituion which deals with dis qualification was not followed.

As per the procedure now the Chief Justice will have post the matter before a third judge who will take a final call. The third judge is expected to hear the matter on 20.
Meanwhile the matter pertaining to the 5 independents has been adjourned for further hearing on november 2. The government in Karnataka got a breather with this order since the court had observed that the result of the trust vote will be subject to the result of the writ petition.
